This month's "Creative Mixer" will be Thursday, April 9 at 5:30 pm in the SteamPlant Paquette Gallery. Sponsored by Salida Council for the Arts, this popular social gathering is a venue for local artists, writers, musicians, and other creatives to meet and network on a casual basis. Everyone who's interested in the visual or performing arts is invited to attend this free event.
The Mixer's featured guest artist this month is Curtis Killorn, whose exhibition, "DREMS", is on display in the SteamPlant's Paquette Gallery through April. Says Curtis, "My dream that I have wished to live out is my desire to see community come together and support the many facets of who we all are....I have learned a lot about dreams lately and how important they are personally, and how they are even more powerful when they are created collectively."
Featured musicians will be the Tenderfoot Trio--"a newly formed musical adventure, exploring old songs in news ways". The group consists of Salidans Bill Needell, guitar; Debby Needell, sax, flute and bass; and Deirdre Wait, vocals.
Free hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be available; as will the popular "soapbox" where anyone can make announcements of interest. Salida Council for the Arts is an all-volunteer organization working for the betterment of the arts, artists and community of Salida.
