It will be almost six years to the day that SHEL first played in Salida at The Salida Café … back in the day … and they still are four incredibly talented and creative sisters doing what they do; defining themselves and a band that defies comparisons. They are hypnotic vocals, infectious rhythms and a sister’s sound – fresh and engaging. It is more than the sum of four, it is the melding of classical training and diverse influences and the result is mesmerizing. SHEL is an acronym for their names; Sarah on violin, Hannah on keyboard, Eva on mandolin, Liza on drums, djembe and beatboxing. Raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, SHEL has spent the last couple years touring the nation and redefining contemporary Americana.
Heartstring Hunters is a Boulder-based indie folk band originally from a tiny surf island on the east coast of Florida. The Hunters hit you in waves of incandescent harmonies and memorable melodies while shades of their southern roots peek through. They feature singer/songwriter Carolyn Nicely and producer/mulit-instrumentalist Daniel Hunter, joined by Alessandro Ceserani, electric bass and Rachael Sheaffer, back-up vocals. Their music is warm and rich. We welcome them to our stage for their first regional performance.
On Saturday, March 19, The Heartstring Hunters will perform at the Coaldale Schoolhouse, 287 Hayden Creek Road at 7:00. The Coaldale Schoolhouse is among the more recent quality music venues to join the region. Well worth our support. Click here
