The 3rd Annual Salida Fiber Festival, celebrating the creative arts of weaving, spinning, knitting, quilting and all crafts fiber-related, enjoyed a successful – and can you believe?! – a sunny and dry weekend in Riverside Park on September 6 and 7.
It was a blast! Many demonstrations filled the park, lots of folks were engaged in learning from the vendors, and there was an amazing selection of items to buy. If you don’t do fiber arts, you could buy and enjoy lovely pieces designed by artisans who specialize in fiber creations.
Sixty vendors from Colorado and neighboring states expressed thanks for the smooth operation of the event and reported good sales, to satisfied customers on both days. “This festival is one of the most colorful and inspirational fairs that I’ve ever attended,” said one shopper. The crafty woman who makes airy, light crumpled scarves has been involved since 2012 and she said this is her most successful weekend in three years!
