I hesitated to leave the confines of my warm apartment to attend the Salida Council for the Arts Creative Mixer last evening, but was oh so glad I did.
Wonderful music was provided by Pint and a Half, aka Duke and Tami Sheppard. They didn’t need a sound system to project their country-Americana tunes. Great singing, and cute as can be.
Artist Sibyl Teague was the Mixer’s guest artist. Her exhibition, Storyteller, is the current exhibition in the Paquette Gallery, where the Creative Mixer is held, and is well worth a visit, if you haven’t already seen it.
Announcements were made about “The Heidi Chronicles” — the Salida High School drama production coming this weekend — and more. There is so much going on in Salida’s creative world, I can hardly keep up with it. What a blessing. The crowd enjoyed themselves, making frequent visits to the bar and the appetizing appetizers.
All and all, it was a lovely, fun and friendly turnout for the November SCFTA Creative Mixer on a wintry night. It was the perfect antidote for weather-induced cabin fever.
See you at the next Mixer in January!
