Greetings! We are excited to invite you to participate in the 2022 Ark Valley Pride Celebration! LGBTTSQIA+* youth and families are under attack and we need your allyship and support this year more than ever! Here are ways to participate. Pride Village Each year Ark Valley Pride hosts Pride Village, an area for community organizations sharing information, activities, and fun and games. This year Pride Village will host a Drag Camp, Button Making Activity, Face Painting, T-shirt/Poster Printing, with more signing on each day. Consider having a table for you to share your message and information with those in the park, as well as sponsoring a fun activity/game/contest that ties in with your organization’s theme. Over the year’s many participants have come up with innovative and entertaining things to do - we hope this year’s groups can do the same. Imagine a County Fair or a Community Picnic. We have a table held for you, let us know how many chairs you need. Purple People Powered Pride Parade We adjusted the Parade and speeches this year to allow for Pride Village participants to walk in the Purple People Powered Pride Parade and close down by 4 to hear speeches and attend the evening’s festivities. Bring your banners and flags and don’t forget to wear your purple! We will notify people in Riverside Park at 2:30 that the Parade is about to begin. If you are coming just for the parade, please be in Riverside Park by 2:45. We will begin promptly at 3 p.m. No need to register. Our mission is to create a community-driven, accessible, healthy, and alternative Pride experience for LGBTTSQIA+ families and allies while generating support and resources for our community. The PfCA currently provides supports for 360+ youth in Chaffee County and over 1500 adults. Yours in Pride - PfCA Team *LGBTTSQIA+ - stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Two-Spirit, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, + all of the identities that fall under the Queer umbrella.
