Listen to Cheryl Tischer of the Salida Council for the Arts and Fred Hubicki discuss his exhibition and the SCFTA's Creative Mixer at the SteamPlant's Paquette Gallery.
Our mission is to enrich the cultural life of our community by nurturing and supporting excellence in the arts; to increase the community’s awareness of and appreciation for the arts; to promote and encourage arts education; and to serve as liaison between the arts, businesses, government and educational institutions.
Supporting the SCFTA
One of the easiest ways to support the SCFTA is by visiting our Support page. We are a volunteer based organization that aims to facilitate community access to art grants, government and foundation funding. Your tax deductible gift helps us to coordinate a variety of events including the Valley Visions Art Show, Indie Film Festival, monthly Creative Mixers at the Salida SteamPlant Event Center, the Richard Cabe Terraphilia Residency Program, Shakespeare in the Park, Salida’s annual Salida Art Walk, Chaffee County poetry events, the annual Creative Census, and our continued education Scholarship Program.
About Salida, Colorado
Home to a lively historic downtown, Salida celebrates its wonderful examples of turn-of-the-last-century commercial structures. In 2012, Colorado’s Governor John Hickenlooper designated Salida as a “Certified Creative District” for its dozens of artist-owned studios and galleries, entrepreneurs, restaurants, unique shops, breweries and distilleries. Being an “unpretentious, bike friendly town” led to Salida’s designation as a “Top 10 2009 Best Small Towns” in Outside Magazine.
