August Creative Mixer

You won’t want to miss the work of Salida artist Lisa Lindsey, accompanied by the musical talent of Bruce Warren and Dale Anderson. The Soapbox announcements will bring you up to date on the innovative events happening around town. A cash bar will be available for you to enjoy your favorite beverages.


Dog Days Art Show
Saturday August 23rd 11:00AM - 3:00PM
Create some art of your wonderful pet and enter it into our 1st annual Dog Days Art Show! Open to all, prizes to be awarded. PLEASE bring your dog on the day of the reception and get your photo taken with your pet. Enjoy a freshly cooked hot dog w/chips and a drink for $5.00. Brought to you by Salida Council for the Arts. Art must be dropped off to box of Bubbles no later than August 20th.


Salida Jazz Fest
Saturday August 9th 5:30-9:30pm at Riverside Park
Enjoy an inspired evening of jazz, funk and fusion under the stars as local, regional, and national musicians perform for you in beautiful Riverside Park. Bring your picnic blanket, relax, and groove along to this year's lineup of fresh and eclectic sounds alongside the banks of the Arkansas River.

Friday August 8th at BV Art and Photo on E. Main in BV.
The opening reception will run from 4-6pm.Every Friday from 9-1 there is Crafting at A Church!

Every Friday from 9-1pm

We have some ideas for crafts on hand or if you have a project you need to finish bring it out. Lunch is provided by Pizza Rio!

Support the Salida Theater Festival at the Lucky Duck Race
August 24th 1:00 - 3:30 pm at Riverside Park

Come out and become a donor of the Salida Theater Festival and receive a free branded tote bag with each donation. 

Van Cliburn Piano Competition Winner
August 9th – Salida High School

As part of the superb line-up of musicians scheduled this summer, Salida Aspen Concerts is thrilled to host Aristo Sham, Gold Medal winter of the annual Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. You can learn more about this extraordinary musician by attending the pre-concert talk at 6:15. The concert begins at 7:00. Children K-12 are free and accompanying adults can attend at half price. These must be reserved in advance by emailing info@salidaconcerts.org. Due to the special nature of this concert, it is likely to sell out quickly. Therefore we highly recommend purchasing these tickets in advance.
