ASIA FEST 2020: STUDENT ART SHOW, CONTEST & WORKSHOPS
Who: Students K- 12
Contest Details: Salida Creativity Lab invites all K-12 students to participate in the Asia Fest 2020 Art Contest. This year’s theme is “Asia.” Create artwork of anything that inspires you about Asia. Examples include landscape, architecture, animals and habitat, culture such as festivals or food, dragons, Anime/Manga fan art, etc. You can paint, draw, make a collage, whatever medium you like best. All artwork must be family friendly. Maximum size is 16x20. Students can make their art at home or at the Boys & Girls Club Art workshops during Asia Fest.
Categories: K-2nd; 3rd-5th grade; 6th-8th; 9th-12th.
Prizes: All artwork will be featured at Fun Street Family Arcade from February 2-9. Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place in each category. Winners will be announced at Riverside Park after the Dragon Parade on February 8. Guest judges are from the community.
Deadline: Submissions close on January 31. Students can turn art into Ms. Tina, or to Mr. Scotty at the Arcade.
**Student should clearly write their name, age, grade, parent/guardian contact info on a piece of paper and attach to artwork when submitting.***
Pick Up: Art can be picked up from the Arcade the week of February 10. All work not picked up by February 15 will be donated or repurposed.
In addition: You can also join us for Asian inspired art workshops at the Boys and Girls Club during Asia Fest 2020. Over 3 weeks students will explore different types of art with Ms. Tina.
Tuesday, January 14, 4:30-5:30pm- Anime/Manga illustration
Tuesday, January 21, 4:30-5:30pm- Chinese watercolor & brushes, cherry blossoms & pandas
Tuesday, January 28- 4:30-5:30pm- Haiku and origami workshop.
