March Creative Mixer

Join us for the March Creative Mixer, sponsored by Salida Council for the Arts.

Featuring artist Cody Oldham, a fifteen-year-old wildlife and landscape painter.  He has been painting since he was eleven years old.  

Living in the mountains of Colorado, he is surrounded by vast landscapes that inspire him.  From the leaf on a tree to a dramatic mountain scene, his environment motivates him in many different ways.  Every time he looks at an animal’s face or into its eyes, he thinks of a new idea for a painting.

He is forever grateful to have the opportunity to learn more and express himself through his paintings.

Music by Bruce Warren

2019 marked the 40th year anniversary of when Bruce Warren began playing the hammered dulcimer.  He took to it easily and less than 4 months after beginning, he won the National Hammered Dulcimer Championship.  Originally from the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas, Bruce plays mostly traditional Irish, Swedish and American folk tunes, as well as his own compositions.  He also sings traditional and contemporary folk songs and composes his own.
