About the event
Salida Concerts is proud to announce a special mid-winter concert program at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at the Salida Steamplant located at 220 West Sackett Avenue in Salida, featuring returning artists, William Hagen (violin) and Albert Cano Smit (piano). Mr. Hagen and Mr. Smit performed an electrifying program during their last visit to Salida in March 2018, and this concert is not to be missed.
Mr. Hagen and Mr. Smit will be performing Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 5 in F major, Op. 24 ("Spring") and Robert Schumann's Violin Sonata No. 2 in D minor, Op. 121, as well as two more modern works, Stravinsky's "Divertimento," and Rhapsody No. 1 by contemporary New York violinist and composer, Jessie Montgomery. This concert will include a brief intermission.
This rare pre-season offering is a special fundraising concert in anticipation of the kickoff of this summer's 44th season of the Salida Aspen Concert Series, a six-week classical music series in July and August made possible by Salida Concerts, Inc., and the Aspen Music Festival and School.
The Steamplant Box Office opens at least 30 minutes before the concert, and tickets may be purchased in advance online for $23 at www.salidaspenconcerts.org/store, or at the door for $25. Students K-12 are admitted for free with an accompanying adult, and an adult accompanying a student may purchase one discounted ticket for $10 at the door.
