Villa Grove Artists Guild: Opening + Creative Mixer

Come join us on the Riverside Plaza at the SteamPlant for the opening show of works from the artists of the Villa Grove Artist Guild. Admission is free. Complimentary beverages served.

The reception will be held outdoors and a limited number of guest will be allowed in the gallery at one time for viewing.

This month’s Creative Mixer will also take place during the opening reception.  Salida Council for the Arts hosts the Creative Mixer, artists working in all genres are encouraged to attend and meet like-minded people, to share influences and news, to soak up fresh ideas, and to be inspired by the energy that makes Salida a center of support and expression.

“Where We Live”

The Villa Grove Artist’s Guild was formed in 2019 by four creative women of this small mountain town located in the northern end of the San Luis Valley. These women, of various ages and backgrounds, began with the idea of regular gatherings to make, critique, and discuss art. The group has expanded in numbers, but this show represents the work of the four founding members, Helen Martin, Amber Shook, Ami Hooper and Kelly Marshall.

The theme of the artwork presented is “Where We Live.” This refers to the inspiration and motivation all four women feel from the natural beauty of the mountains, vistas, and wildlife that surround them.

Look for the exhibit by the full Villa Grove Artist’s Guild to take place in October, located one block west of beautiful downtown Villa Grove.
