Medical emergencies can bring your way of life and creative practice to a halt. NYFA’s Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grant program provides funds for emergency medical, dental and mental health expenses faced by visual artists, media artists and choreographers living anywhere in the U.S., its territories, or the District of Columbia. Cycle 7 of this fund is currently open, with an online application deadline of May 3, for emergencies occurring Sept. 1, 2020 and later; Cycle 8 will open on June 8, with an application deadline of June 29, for emergencies occurring Nov. 1, 2020 and later. Grants of up to $5,000 support direct treatment expenses that have been incurred, or are needed, for upcoming treatment. (Grants are not for living expenses, lost income, or medical care for anyone other than the artist.) Application guidelines, eligibility requirements and the online application are now available athttps://www.nyfa.org/awards-grants/rauschenberg-medical-emergency-grants/.
